The closest she came was a game where it was king and pawn v king and Caitlin was not able to stop the promotion.} 1.d4 e6 2.c4 Nf6 3.Nc3 Bb4 4.Bd2 O-O 5.a3 Be7 6.e3 d5 7.Nf3 Nc6 8.cxd5 exd5 9.Bb5 Bd7 10.b4 a6 11.Ba4 b5 12.Bb3 Bf5 13.O-O Bd3 14.Re1 Bc4 15.Bxc4 bxc4 16.Qc2 Na7 17.Ne5 Bd6 18.f4 Nb5 19.Qf5 Nxc3 20.Bxc3 Bxe5 21.fxe5 Ne4 22.Rac1 Qe7 23.Rf1 f6 24.Rf4 c6 25.Rxe4 {That black knight was giving me the biggest 'headache' of the game. I had really meant to play Rc5. Otherwise it was a very good game. Hats off to my sister : ) (C.B. [as white]). I feel that Caitlin has a good chance to win the game after 37...axb5; 38.Rxa8, Rxa8;39.axb5, cxb5 winning a strong passed b-pawn.Moreover, black's king is very powerful in the centre, whereas white has a weak double-pawn. Longterm, I cannot imagine that white can prevent the b-pawn promoting to a queen, unless she sacrifices her bishop. Otherwise, a nice and balanced game.(BvR)} {#d} 1/2-1/2
