The resulting position was difficult for my opponent to play, and he eventually (incorrectly) gave the exchange back, so this was a good attempt on my part to change the course of the game. This was spoilt slightly by my habitual time trouble...} Rxd3 20.Qxd3 f5 21.e4 {My opponent had considered 21.Qc3 but missed that he had a mate at the end of the main line!} (21.Qc3 e4 22.Nd4 Bxh2+ 23.Kxh2 Qh4+ 24.Kg1 Ne5 25.Nxe6 Nf3+ 26.gxf3 exf3 27.Qxg7#) 21...f4 22.Nd6 g5 23.Qc3 Qf6 {An immediate 23...g4 is possible, but I didn't realise that in the game.} (23...g4 24.Nd2 Nd4 25.Qd3 Bxd6 26.cxd6 Qxd6) 24.Rd5 {This was a mistake by my opponent, which lets me back in the game. I even had hopes of winning at this point, though realistically my time trouble would make that difficult.} g4 25.Nd2 Bxd5 (25...Nd4) 26.exd5 Nd4 27.Qd3 Bxd6 28.cxd6 Qxd6 29.Nb3 Nxb3 30.Qxb3 Rd8 {(=) I offered a draw - the tournament rules stated that no draw offers could be made before move 30. But my opponent declined as he was ahead on the clock and had the better position.} 31.Rd1 Kf7 32.Qc4 Kf6 33.g3 f3 {Time trouble blunder.} (33...Kg5 {This king move was probably my best chance.}) 34.Qxg4 {#r} 1-0
